Here Comes The Sun
Here comes the sun was painted of one of my favorite views, along the edge of the vast open marsh are palm trees that sit in the shade of a canopy of live oaks on the quiet lead into Beaufort. This lone palm caught my eye as I drove to set up for Waterfest. The composition was a strong abstract circling the green palm top and I liked how the edge of the marsh was lit with spots of light and shadow. If you look closely you will see the use of broken colors , complimentary hues of red next to green, oranges next to blues with lost and found edges. What excites me is the contrast between the foreground in shade and the horizon in full morning sun.
If I am not at an art show, I can be found doing live painting demonstrations on weekend afternoons in the Mt. Pleasant Mall, 708 Johnnie Dodds Blvd.
